surgery (definitions continued):
- Minor Surgery: a surgical procedure restricted to the management
of minor problems and injuries (e.g. wound suturing, peripheral
vessel cannulation, etc.)
- Aseptic Technique: a surgical technique conducted under conditions
which prevent exposure of the patient to pathogenic organisms;
the technique includes: wearing sterile surgical gloves, using
sterile instruments, aseptic preparation of the surgical field
